Farm attacks – Lots of of farmers on tractors, motorbikes, vehicles or horses took to the streets of the small South African city of Mookgophong on Tuesday, to protest what they stated was a spike in assaults on farms.
The protest was held as three suspects appeared in courtroom on expenses of murdering a 79-year-old farmer in March.
A small group of farmers held up their arms crossed in an “X”, symbolising their name for an finish to the killings.
The farmers ask for improved safety from the police and higher prosecution charges of crimes associated to farm assaults.
49 farmers have been murdered on South African farms between April 2019 and April 2020 in keeping with police statistics. – Farm attacks.
